Is it possible to do this little bit of WPF3D XAML with the KIT3d engine: TextureCoordinates="{Binding RelativeSource={RelativeSource Self}, Converter={StaticResource sphereGen}}" instead of having to specify the exact coordinates?

Short answer: I don't know.   I'm just getting more familiar with Binding in XAML myself.  I'll keep an eye open to this in my Blend3d work.  It may have something to do with the fact that currently most Kit3D api classes are not inheriting from DependencyObject / FrameworkElement, and so may have different binding abilities/behaviours.  Also, there seems to be a problem/difference with binding to StaticResources in Silverlight that may be at issue as well.
